Gallery of the House at time of Purchase Background on the Purchase: I first viewed the house in December of 2001 while looking for a place to relocate in order to accept a new job. In planning a move to a new area, I had done a thorough search of real estate listing on the net and made appointments with a number of real estate agents to view their listings that appears to match what I was looking for. When I had made the appointments, I told each agent that I was primarily looking for a house with large rooms, high ceilings, a fireplace, some land and didn't mind looking at something that might require some work. I had decided based on my research of listings that a new house in the area would not have the elements that I wanted at a price that I felt was reasonable. After spending an entire day looking at a number of properties, I was shown another house about 2 blocks away. After finishing viewing it, I told the listing agent that it wasn't exactly what I was looking for and asked if she had any other properties matching my desires. Although she didn't have any listings herself, she told me about this house that she felt the owners might be willing to drop their price to within my range. Off we took in what was now a pounding rainstorm to view this property. Once inside this house, I was certain this was the house that was meant for me to purchase, a fact that my friends who accompanied me on my search felt as well.
